What does the future hold for
4the Money?

Henrik explains:
So, coming home after an evening doing vocals for song nr 3 in the studio, I sat down to process photo portraits I did of Erik and Øyvind. Erik thought he looked a bit old in the photos, so I started playing around with FaceApp, and as I often do – got carried away… Well, FaceApp is great but best at making you look even older – creating (even) older versions of the band members, inspired this post.

Fast forward 12-15 years: 4theMoney have still not made any money on our music, but we are back in Buttons Studio re-recording Version III of “Aqua Mortalis – When things get Fishy”! Øyvind has called us to join him in his expanded studio that now boasts Erik’s old acoustic drum set, a fridge for cold beers, a lift for the geriatric Henrik to get to the studio, and a basement (yes, with lift as well) with a wine cellar, 4K movie theatre, spa, and a chemist where Kristian can get supplies of medication for his arthritis, and all four band members get their technology breakthrough cure for hair loss – all now sporting long full hair again.

Musically, the new version of Little Fish Tom is even longer – new parts have been created and the 27min piece is now extended to 43min. Øyvind insisted on more space for guitar solos, and Henrik got competitive and wanted a bass solo in each song as well. Erik Felt left out, so we allowed him a 7min drum solo leading into the part “the Battle”. Kristian has taken up harmonica and added a new bluesy part to Ener’n and “A Farewell to Tom”. And our kids all play instruments now, so they were invited to add tracks playing guitar, keyboard, flute, bass and percussion on Little Fish Tom, and giving the chorus of Treer’n an angelic atmosphere with a choir backing the vocals by now rusty voiced Erik and Henrik. According to sound engineer, Øyvind, “Little Fish Tom version III” has a total of 137 tracks to be mixed!

The future looks so bright for 4theMoney that we should have worn shades, but our eye-sight is not that sharp anyway, anymore. Anyhoo! We’re excited about the possibilities we see for our band in the next decade or so!
